Dear Sir,
When I was a child, I lived in a place in Brittany where there are many privateer houses.
Their stories fascinated me, and even more so, that of the pirates who hid their treasure on remote islands.
Wanting to imitate them, I had at the time taken advantage of my father's absence to steal some objects from his cabinet of curiosities. I had put them in a chest that I buried not far from house. My father had in particular some personal belongings of Anne Dieu-le-Veut, as well as antiques, particularly Egyptian ones. He was a naval officer. That year, he never returned. He and his crew were reported missing.
Soon after, we moved with my mother to live with her brother, far away.
I never went back to where we lived. I often think back to that chest that I had buried. At the time, I had drawn some riddles on pieces of paper, allowing to find it.
Like so many people, I have heard of you and your prowess. Today, I have no descendants, my uncle had no children either ... and I'm not at my best. That is why I am sending you these documents with great pleasure. If it tempts you to find this treasure, I assure you that there are some items in there that are worth a shot. You can keep all the content. Just write back to me.
Your admirer,
Denez
